M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. It is approximately 1360 light years from us.
M27 was one of my first deep sky targets. I imaged it for the first time from my backyard, with a sky with terrible light pollution and with an unmodified Canon camera....However, at the time I was very happy with the result and that image is still on my website
On the right, you can see my current vision of the nebula in Ha - OIII - OIII palette, with stars in RGB.
The image is taken remotely from my observatory in Àger and accumulates 47 hours of exposure.
Click on the image for a full size version, or go to the Gallery section for complete exposure details.
