Cepheus widefield with Sh2-129 and Ou4

This image started out as an auxiliary image to be taken with my FSQ-106 N to get just some RGB data for the stars for my narrowband image of Sh2-129 and Ou4...

But, as previously stated, the FSQ is such a nice instrument that I quickly saw that this field also deserved an image of its own.

Total exposure time is about 19 hours in 5 minutes sub-exposures and, as stated, only broad band RGB filters have been used.

The image covers a field of almost four degrees (at 3.49"/pixel) that includes not only Sh2-129, the Flying Bat nebula and Ou4, the Squid nebula (not visible on this RGB image), but also the dark nebulae LDN 1125 (B 152) and LDN 1119.

The second image is a crop centred on Sh2-129.

Click on the images for a higher resolution version, or go to the Gallery section for complete exposure details.

Image processing: Pixinsight.
